Nick Beardslee is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker, primarily working as a writer/director/DP. He’s interested in queer genre stories (often mystery and suspense) and characters who are “up to something.”
Raised in Michigan, Nick grew up making short spy movies with his brother Drew. Nick is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where he received a BA in Film & Video Production.
Nick worked as a Video Producer at the University of Michigan for several years, creating videos for the art & design school and musical theater department, where he met many of the actors he continues to work with today.
Nick currently works as a senior video producer at Squarespace.
His short film Bird in Hand, premiered at NewFest in 2022, and online through Short of the Week, who called it one of the best short films of the year and “as structurally perfect as a New Yorker Magazine short story.” Nick’s latest short, H*le, is now online (a Vimeo Staff Pick).
His debut feature film—a playful heist drama—is currently in development.
